The mission
Security through collaboration
Greenland is going through rapid digital development, and more services are moving online. At the same time, many organisations have neither the time nor the budget to test their systems thoroughly. Defend.gl is here to make it simpler: instead of waiting for someone with bad intentions to find the gaps first, we give ethical hackers a clear and responsible channel for finding them.
Our approach is built on collaboration rather than confrontation – between businesses, authorities, and the security researchers who test their systems.

Defend.gl isn't a detached side project. The platform is owned and operated by Hosting.gl ApS – an established Greenlandic company that holds operational and legal responsibility for Defend.gl.

There is a named company behind Defend.gl – not an anonymous platform with no owner or accountable party.

Hosting.gl already works with web and IT operations in Greenland every day, and is committed to the continued operation of Defend.gl.

Defend.gl is built on experience, not good intentions alone. Hosting.gl works daily with operations, infrastructure, and security for Greenlandic businesses and authorities – and knows the systems and conditions security work actually happens under.
With Defend.gl, we turn that experience into a dedicated platform for offensive security – penetration testing, bug bounty, and responsible vulnerability reporting. We're building the platform and the community with a sharp focus, backed by an established, operationally sound company.

How we work
All testing work carried out through Defend.gl is based on recognised methods and frameworks, whether it's a scoped penetration test or an ongoing bug bounty programme.
OWASP
Open Worldwide Application Security Project – the shared reference for web application vulnerabilities, including the OWASP Top 10.
PTES
Penetration Testing Execution Standard – describes the phases of a structured and transparent penetration test.
NIST
A framework from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, widely recognised in cybersecurity.
In addition, ethical hackers test under our Safe Harbor policy, and we support GDPR and NIS2 requirements.
Community Fund
Security shouldn't only be for those who can afford it
Not every organisation has the budget for a bug bounty programme. That's why we set up the Community Fund, which reinvests in security testing for organisations with limited resources – without any profit being taken out.
